Despite Full Moon, Good Hog Hunting To Start New Year

Despite a huge full moon this past weekend, our hunters saw quite a bit of hog activity and killed four nice pigs and missed one to start off our 2011 South Carolina hog hunting season. And starting the new year with us were our good friends from NC who hunt with us one day a month, every month: Joe, Gene and Randy. And they all saw tons of pigs, with Joe and Randy both killing big boars.

We also had two other hunters from NC with us for one day, John and Steve, and John killed a nice, dry sow. Another big sow was killed by Travis, down from MD with some of his family; and his sow was pretty unique since it only had 3 legs. We think it might have been grabbed by a gator since the leg was taken pretty cleanly off unlike a bullet hitting it. Just check out the trailcam video of it making due without its fourth leg!

Now we have had all week for our properties to sit quietly in preparation for this weekend’s hunt. We look forward to sharing our hunters’ adventures with you. And if you are still thinking about a Spring hog hunt, turkey hunt or a combination of the two, please give Becky a call ASAP since we our dates are booking up fast! We are expecting one of our best Spring hunts this year, so you don’t want to miss your opportunity.
