Our new lodge!!!

Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge is better than ever! We have just recently completed our move into our fully restored 100+ yr old lodge, and we couldn’t be more excited. We have already taken several groups of hunters, and everyone has been really been enjoying the new place. It is called the Maner-Garnett

The Cabo Mexico fishing crew

house, and it sits at the head of Hamilton Ridge Road here in Garnett and is much closer to where we do much of our hunting. I will be posting pictures of the inside asap now that we have all of our mounts hung up as well as sharing some of the history of this beautiful old house that has been a landmark in the area for years.

Leah and Garrett with their big hog

As for our hunting, it has been OK considering the heat and bugs, and we have had some good hogs shot and even more seen and/or missed. Some of the successful hunters last weekend

Vance and WD with their pigs

included two parent/son teams: Vance and his son WD from West Virginia and Leah and her son Garrett from NC. Vance shot a tasty 50 pounder while WD showed him up with a nice 120 pound boar, and Garrett missed a big hog while mom hammered a good 175lb boar. The prior weekend our good friend David from IL shot a 275lb boar, Joe of the NC 1-hunt-a-month crew rolled up a good 190lb boar and Ron from DE shot a nice 100lb boar.

And as some of our regular hunters remember, Danny went marlin fishing last September with David from IL and some of his family and friends. Well, the successful fishing crew all came down for some R&R along with some fishing off of Hilton Head and some pig hunting here in the lowcountry. Well, in addition to catching a bunch of fish, they rolled up a couple of good hogs too. David won the pool with a huge 300lb monster boar, Billy came in 2nd with a great 170lb boar and Dillbert provided the hog for their pig roast when he killed a 45lb eater.

Danny with a great Red Drum caught with Capt. Rick

And speaking of all of the great fishing Danny and the guys had off of our South Carolina coast. You need to check out Captain Rick over in Charleston at www.reelfishhead.com. He has been cruising these waters for years and knows how to put you on all kinds of fish including sharks and king mackerel as well as giant red drum since he specializes in inshore fishing! You can add easily add on a day on the water while you are down hunting with us. Just check out that beautiful redfish that Danny recently caught while fishing with him!
