The South Carolina lowcountry rut has cranked up and is now in full force. Big deer are being seen throughout the day which always makes it an exciting time to be in the woods for our hunters. And we have been blessed to have lots of old friends hunting with us again this year as well as quit a few new ones, and everyone has been having great hunts in the beautiful Fall weather. Many of our hunters have also benefited from this increased movement and harvested good deer.

Some of those hunters that joined us in the past two weeks or so were Wayne and his son Joe from NY who shot big does for the freezer, Wayne who knocked down a huge 5pt and Mike from NC who shot two great bucks. We also had Capt. Rick out of Charleston who took 3 mature does, and several hunters who also took their first deer and/or buck while with us. Those included Monica and her son Brian; she shot a nice 8pt for her first buck while Brian shot a young buck for his first deer ever. We also had new hunter David take his first buck too, and Ronnie from NY who took a nice meat hog.

Cypress Creek also had our group from Orlando Bass Pro Shops that come every October, and once again everyone had a great time with us while a few also took home big deer. Donald shot a nice 6pt while it was rubbing a tree, then took both the deer and the tree home for a full body mount. Mario won the pot for largest buck with his 8pt while Dominic hit a home run when he shot not only his first buck, but his second buck too, while their buddy Trapper took home a mature doe.

So as always we want to thank everyone that hunted with us and encourage you to come back for more outdoor fun in the lowcountry. As for us, with just Henry, Danny and I working lately, we have been super busy taking care of our rut hunters, so I have been a little behind getting everyone’s pictures up on our blog. However I believe that I now have everyone’s pictures emailed out to them from the last 2 weeks; but if you are still waiting, please drop Becky an email to let us know, and I will make sure and get it right to you. Thanks to everyone for their patience!

We also encourage anyone interested in some great hunting to give us a call immediately to see when Becky can get you in. The rutting action should be strong through thanksgiving with good late-season hunting getting cranked up after that when the deer have to move to eat in the cold. So come and join us whenever you can. We just love putting you all out in our woods.
