Heavy rains and high winds have plagued the SC low country in April with roads and stands flooded out.  Although we had plenty of lightning and strong winds we still managed to have some success for our hunters.  As would be expected with unfavorable weather there were a number of missed opportunities and some missed shots.  It took some special effort from our guides and some patient hunters to finally make it all happen.

DSCN0048First we had Pat down from NY who took two huge trophy boars on his hunt.  Both boars were in excess of 200# and Pat made perfect shots on both hogs.  Nice going Pat!DSCN0055

DSCN0062Jerry was here from MD hunting with us and also managed to harvest a fine boar and a tasty sow.DSCN0064

DSCN0068Jason, from our own home state of SC was here at Cypress Creek to take a nice meat

hog home for a cookout.  We really enjoyed spending time with Jason.

DSCN0059Our next successful hunter was Don down from NC who harvested a real nice 170# boar at last light and made a great shot.  Way to go Don!

Another hunter down from NC was Matt who didn’t let bad weather

spoil his SC Hog Hunting.  Matt took two nice trophy boars back home to NC.DSCN0115

The next hunter was John, still active military from NC.  John knows his gun and how to shoot it and took a real nice boar with a perfect shot.DSCN0111

We want to thank John for his military service and for being a class act guy.  We look forward to seeing John again real soon!

0428132158Our last successful hunter for April was our good friend Carl from Rock Hill, SC.  Carl has had great success all year long hunting with us at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge.  Carl took a real nice velvet buck back in August and a nice hog on his last trip.  Now Carl has taken another nice hog this trip and we had lots of fun doing it.   Way to go Carl!

Well this will catch us up on our most recent hunts here at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge.

We will be back on our next blog with a special hunt with our wounded warriors and the Freedom Alliance.  We will have lots of pictures of their shooting events, their hunts, and the good time shared at Cypress Creek.

We have just started our Night Hunting for hogs and coyotes, so give Becky a call and get in on the action.PICT0329PICT0029
