In May Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge began night hunting for wild hogs.  As you may know, hogs are extremely nocturnal animals and now that SCDNR allows us to night hunt for hogs, coyotes and armadillos, it has been a great advantage in harvesting hogs.  Our night hunts have been extremely successful with 100% success on wild hogs.  These night hunts will continue through July 1, so if you are looking for a very exciting hog hunt and want some tasty wild pork for your freezer, now is the time.

We have also had some day hunters for hogs who have done quite well.  June and July is always our slowest time of the year for having hunters, but the ones that brave the heat do very well.  Great fishing is also an option to fill the long days of summer as we have plenty of great options for fine fishing opportunities.

We have missed a few of our chances to take pictures of some of the hogs harvested, but we can show you the ones that we did take.

Joe JFirst we had Joe down from Ohio who harvested this great boar with one good shot.  This was his first hunt with us and we look forward to seeing him again in February 2014.

Tommy from Lexington, NC was back down to the low country to try his luck at some night hog hunting and boy did it pay off with this huge trophy boar.  That’s a lot of pork!June 2012

frankOur special friend Frank was also on target on his last trip down.  Frank took this fine meat hog that he was hoping for with a new custom made .308 rifle that was made for him by our special friend Matt Lutynski.

Matt can build you the most accurate custom gun ever and is able to do it at a price no one can beat.  If you want to upgrade to the best, most accurate rifle that you could ever own, let us put you in contact with Matt.  You won’t believe how good you can shoot until you try one of his rifles.

Our friend Dan was also down again from Maryland to harvest the perfectDSC01619

meat hog that he came for.  Dan was equipped with an AR and night vision

optics.  Plenty of hogs were seen before he took his hog.  Way to go Dan!

BranhamsJamie along with her daughter Katie and her son Matt were down again from PA to enjoy more SC hog hunting, but at night this time.  As with all the other night hunters, there were all very successful on their hunt.  This family knows how to enjoy quality time together in the outdoors.

We want to also mention that our guide Justin is recovering from tonsil surgery and we all wish him the best and a speedy recovery!

We will leave you on this blog with a nice, big trophy boar that is still out there waiting on a good shot from a good hunter like you.  Hope to see you soon!trail
