SC Deer Hunting Season Ends for 2012
The SC Deer Hunting Season ended the same way it started, Great! The last week of the season we had great hunter success with a few nice bucks and plenty of big does for the freezers. Although we didn’t get pictures of all the deer and hogs harvested, we can show you some.
Jeff from NY started our after Christmas hunts with a nice big boar. This was Jeff’s first hog hunt ever and only hunted 1 day to harvest a nice boar.
Jarred and his brother Jacob harvested nice big does while hunting with their dad Eric from AL. Another father and son team enjoying quality time in the outdoors.
The same week we had two soldiers home for the holidays that brought their fathers to hunt deer and hogs at Cypress Creek. Jeff and his dad Charles from PA come often to hunt the SC deer and hogs when Jeff is home on leave. All hunters had several opportunities with Jeff’s dad Charles harvesting a big doe.
Jeff’s military friend Matt and his dad Tom from LA had the hunt they had been planning for a long time. Matt harvested a nice big doe while his dad Tom harvested his best buck ever.
The group plans to make this hunt an annual event each year. We also want to thank Jeff and Matt for their service in our military.
The 2012 SC deer hunting season ended with my personal best hunt ever. My 3 year old grandson Seth along with his dad Ryan harvested his first deer. Wow, what an intense hunt!
After a lot of practice and planning we managed to make it happen. Shooting a small 22-250 cal. rifle having a deer that basically committed suicide, it actually happened on the last day of the season. After missing a big doe we got a second chance about 1 hour later on a small 8pt buck. After one miss, a bad hit, another miss, and finally a good shot, he managed to get it done. I’ve always said, the best hunts are when your own kids or grandkids harvest their first game animal and that was definitely true in this case. Way to go Seth! Proud of you!
We have had a great year at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge. We have been blessed to have many youth and first time hunters this year that harvested their first deer, first buck, first hog, first turkey and ever alligators. We also had several successful TV shows to film hunts this year. Our many regular hunters and friends returned to have successful hunts this year was well. We are very thankful and blessed to have so many wonderful people to come and share the great outdoors with us at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge. We thank you!
