Deer Hunting

The low country of South Carolina offers exceptional opportunities for whitetail deer. With deer populations at their highest and the most liberal season in the southeast spanning from August 15th – January 1st, early season deer hunters are given the opportunity to harvest rare velvet buck trophies.

You will be hunting from comfortable elevated tower stands, ladder stands, and tripod stands equipped with rifle rests; open ladder stands and loc-on stands are also used to accommodate pistol and bow hunters. Stands are strategically located throughout the property around grain fields, in swamps, hardwoods, and pinewoods to ensure a variety of hunting opportunities. Most deer stands will have food plots, corn feeders, or both. Mineral supplements and protein feeds are also used to ensure healthy deer populations with quality racks. Hunters may harvest 2 deer per day (1 in morning, 1 in afternoon).

Trophy Whitetail Hunts: Pleasant Hill Plantation

Welcome to Cypress Creek’s Pleasant Hill Plantation, an exclusive hunting opportunity located in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry near the Savannah River. More than 15 years in the making and steeped in tradition, Pleasant Hill is presented by the owners of the renowned Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge.

Pleasant Hill Plantation proudly boasts a quality trophy whitetail habitat that is second-to-none in the area. Pristine hardwood stands and thick pine groves blend naturally with swamps, lakes, thickets and open fields to create an ideal environment for its wildlife inhabitants. Carefully selected and rigidly controlled food plots are meticulously maintained to ensure that the magnificent bucks and does are always at their physical and mental peak.

Strategically located stands provide safety, exclusivity and an unparalleled view of Mother Nature at her best. While eagles soar overhead, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, turkeys, wild boars and whitetails roam freely below. With an average ratio of one stand for every 150 acres of land, multiple deer sightings and opportunities are assured.

Hunts are exclusive and offered only in select seasons for a very limited number of trophy hunters. Harvested trophy bucks must sport 8 points or better with a minimum outside spread of 16 inches, but many of our bucks far exceed these requirements. Whether guests prefer guns, bows and arrows or just binoculars, our knowledgeable guides are available with the expertise to optimize the day.
